Commander's Intent Unit Goals

Our Mission

Our mission at the NNDCC/NJROTC Program is to cultivate the students of Peninsula High School into exemplary citizens and leaders by:

  1. Transferring the skills acquired from the program to excel in various other activities, such as performing arts, Honor Society, sports teams, and other academic courses.

  2. Advocating for community service and introducing diverse career opportunities in service to the nation.

  3. Embodying the unit's motto, "self-discipline over self-esteem," to nurture outstanding cadets and foster personal growth.

  4. Setting a standard of professionalism that extends beyond NJROTC, serving as role models for our peers both within and outside the program.

Our Method

At Peninsula High School’s NNDCC/NJROTC Program, our primary goal is to nurture cadets, transforming them into collaborative team members and, ultimately, effective team leaders. We achieve this through the following initiatives:

  1. Cultivating an interactive and stimulating classroom atmosphere that fosters the growth of exceptional citizenship and leadership skills.

  2. Establishing a close-knit community akin to a family, promoting esprit de corps and fostering camaraderie among all members.

  3. Encouraging active involvement in various events, such as color guards, ceremonies, and recruiting activities, providing practical experience and opportunities for personal development.

  4. Striving to create a remarkable and positive representation of our unit, showcasing the collective efforts and achievements of our dedicated cadets.

End State

Every cadet should embrace a profound sense of pride in our unit, their uniform, and their fellow cadets. We place special emphasis on upholding the unit motto, as it becomes the catalyst for each cadet's growth and progress.

The set standards that we expect everyone in the unit to achieve are as follows:

  1. 100% uniform participation, demonstrating a commitment to the unit's values and appearance.

  2. Division champions, with teams making it to regionals during the last drill season, showcasing our competitive spirit and dedication to excellence.

  3. Promotions for everyone, ensuring that each cadet reaches at least the rank of c/PO3, signifying individual growth and leadership development.

  4. Completion of 20/2000 hours of community service by every cadet, fostering a strong sense of responsibility and giving back to the community.

  5. Earning the participation ribbon, which involves attending events like the Navy Ball, field trips, campus clean up, and actively supporting our home drill meetings at Peninsula High School, highlighting our cadets' active involvement and commitment to the unit's success.
